How to create an invoice for freelance work
As a freelancer or contractor, you send an invoice so the client knows what to pay and when. Include your details, the client’s details, a clear description of the work, the amount, and payment terms.
Steps: (1) Use our invoice generator or a freelance invoice template. (2) Add your name or business name and contact info. (3) Add the client’s name and billing address. (4) List the work (e.g., by project, by hour, or by deliverable) with quantities and rates. (5) Add subtotal, tax if applicable, and total. (6) State payment terms (e.g., Net 30, due on receipt) and how you accept payment (see how to send an invoice). (7) Send the invoice and keep a copy for your records.
