An invoice should include your business or name, the customer’s details, the date and invoice number, and a line-by-line breakdown of what was provided. Including payment terms—such as due on receipt, Net 15, or Net 30—helps you get paid on time and keeps records clear for taxes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should a model invoice include?
Model/agency name, client, shoot date(s), description of work (e.g. e‑commerce, campaign), day rate or hourly rate, hours/days, usage or buyout fees, total, payment terms (e.g. Net 30), and bank or payment details.
Do I charge for usage separately from the day rate?
Often yes. The day rate usually covers the shoot day only. Print, OOH, digital, and social usage are typically negotiated and invoiced as additional fees or a percentage of the day rate.
Does the agency add a fee on top of my rate?
Many agencies add a booking fee (e.g. 20%) on top of the model’s rate. The invoice may show the model fee and agency fee separately, or one total; confirm with your agency.
